Veterans in Transition Crushing Boundaries!

Fleet Feet Sports Monterey is excited to partner with New Balance to offer the nationally recognized Couch to 5K No Boundaries program to the Veterans currently enrolled in the "Coming Home" program provided by the Veteran's Transition Center (VTC) of Monterey County.

The VTC of Monterey County program is providing transitional housing and counseling services to veterans for a period of up to 24 months. During the program, veterans are dealing with mental health issues, physical disabilities, and transitioning from homelessness to self-sufficiency. While veterans are dealing with these issues, they are also beginning to learn life management skills so that they are able to sustain themselves in the future. VTC provides these opportunities for veterans who are willing to commit to being clean and sober, change their lives and learn the skills needed to become self-sufficient. Surrounded by other veterans with similar challenges, veterans learn to help one another and form a community..

Participating Veterans will be coached and encouraged to get physically active in a nurturing and positive environment.  New Balance has graciously offered to provide footwear and shirts for the group, to make sure that these folks are taken care of in the best way possible and ensure their success in the program.
