Wharf to Wharf Grants Fleet Feet Funding for Project Fit Afterschool Program

The Wharf to Wharf Community Foundation granted Fleet Feet Sports funding to support it's Project Fit After school Running Program at local elementary and middle schools.  This second year award will help increase the schools served and includes underserved schools in Watsonville and Castroville. The Project Fit after school running program provides an emphasis on running games and challenge courses that include T&F themes such as running, throwing, long jump, and other fun activities designed to create a love of running. The program includes warm up and cool down drills and reviewing proper running technique. Schools identify parent volunteers to lead the program and they are trained and supported by a Fleet Feet Certified Coach. The program culminates in a complimentary entry in a local Fleet Feet produced race.  The program enjoys on-going support from the Wharf to Wharf community foundation grant, and generous support from Jeff Moreno, DPT, founder of Move2Thrive and  from Fleet Feet community partner Precision Physical Therapy/Precision Sports Performance Running.
