Half Marathon Training for 2012

 

Time to set that New Year's goal of completing your first 1/2 marathon?  Want to increase your speed and lower your time for the 1/2 distance?  Want to do something that is amazingly fun with a tremendous group of people?  Well then, this is the training program for you!!  

We will be training for  the Santa Cruz 1/2 marathon on April 1st.   This group will have two options; Saturdays at 8am and Tuesdays at 6:30pm in Aptos or Sundays at 8am and Wednesdays at 6:30pm.  The program will begin on January 21st and run through March 31st. 

Program includes:

  • Instruction on proper form hydration, nutrition, pacing, and recovery.  
  • Written schedule.
  • Technical shirt.
  • Weekly email with instructional information.
  • Core workout and stretching at conclusion of each workout.
  • Instructional and motivational coaching.
  • Eelectrolyte and nutrition products at each workout. 
  • An atmosphere of fun and encouragement.

During the duration of the program there will be educational seminars on Injury Prevention, Hydration and Fueling, and Race Prep.

This group will be open to Walker, Run/Walkers, Beginner Runners, Runners.  Coaching for each group will be provided in a safe and encouraging atmosphere.  Cost is $100.
